Dr. rer. nat. Thomas Stiefel
Dr. rer. nat. Thomas Stiefel is the main shareholder and managing director of biosyn Arzneimittel GmbH in Fellbach near Stuttgart.
Dr Stiefel studied chemistry at the Universities of Stuttgart and Munich, specializing in biochemistry. He obtained his doctorate at the Max Planck Institute for Metals Research in Stuttgart, where he subsequently worked as a research assistant. His main focus was on elucidating the behavior of toxic and essential trace elements in metabolism. From 1980 to 1984, Thomas Stiefel worked as a research and development manager in the pharmaceutical industry.
In 1984, he was co-founder and has been managing director of biosyn Arzneimittel GmbH ever since. He initiated the company's pharmaceutical innovations, and is the author of many international patents. Medical-scientific publications and lectures at home and abroad characterize his work, as does the co-editing of symposium volumes. He is also active in scientific associations such as the Society for Minerals and Trace Elements (GSM) and SepNet.
Ortwin Kottwitz
Ortwin Kottwitz is a shareholder and managing director of biosyn Arzneimittel GmbH in Fellbach near Stuttgart. As a technician specializing in chemistry, he was a production assistant in the pharmaceutical industry from 1975, where he was responsible for the development and production of pharmaceutical and cosmetic preparations. From 1980, he was Technical Manager of a pharmaceutical production facility for injectables.
In 1984, Ortwin Kottwitz was one of the co-founders of biosyn Arzneimittel GmbH. Since the beginning, he has been in charge of product development and responsible for the supervision of research projects. He also developed and built the complex GMP production facilities for the biosyn Corporation in Carlsbad, California, as well as in Fellbach. Since 1999, Ortwin Kottwitz has been managing director of biosyn Arzneimittel GmbH.
Pascal Voltzenlugel
Pascal Voltzenlugel is the Managing Director / CEO of biosyn Arzneimittel GmbH in Fellbach near Stuttgart. The Managing Director represents the company alone.
Pascal Voltzenlugel is a pharmacist, a graduate of the University of Strasbourg and holds an MBA (Master of Business Administration) from Noema Business School.
He has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical and dermo-cosmetic industry. He has worked in the DACH region [Germany, Austria, and Switzerland], the USA and France and has been responsible for exports to international markets in Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and South East Asia. He has outstanding knowledge in the areas of prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs, orphan drugs, medical devices, food supplements, aesthetics and cosmetic brands.
Pascal Voltzenlugel is a member of the Board of Directors of VIPS (Association of Pharmaceutical Companies in Switzerland) and was a member of the Board of Directors of the BPI (Federal Association of the Pharmaceutical Industry) Baden-Württemberg. He is also an administrator of the Board of Directors of the Swiss-French Chamber of Commerce.
