biosyn Arzneimittel GmbH is a leader in high-dose selenium injections. Now the medium-sized family-owned company has received approval for France for a selenase injection preparation.
Managing partner Thomas Stiefel is particularly pleased about this positive decision. “We have convinced the French authorities of the quality of our products.” He points out that the company has been an innovation leader in the production of aseptic and high-quality trace element compounds under cleanroom conditions for more than a decade. Since 2009, it has been able to manufacture the active ingredient sodium selenite pentahydrate – the basic ingredient for all of the company’s selenium products – in Germany in the internationally prescribed cGMP quality. The injectables are used in the hospital sector. The vital trace element selenium is needed in many different places in the body. A deficiency can therefore make itself felt in very different ways.
