Update storage advice – MEPTID no longer needs to be refrigerated
There is good news about MEPTID, the WHO stage II opioid for moderate to severe pain. MEPTID can now be stored at room temperature as a rule.
This changes the storage advice “Do not store above 30 °C” regarding special precautions for the storage of MEPTID.
From:
“Store in refrigerator (2 – 8 °C)” with the addition of “Stability studies have shown that short-term storage of up to one month at room temperature (“Do not store above 25 °C.”) does not adversely change the quality of the medicinal product. The stated storage advice (“Store in refrigerator, 2 – 8 °C.”) remains valid for long-term storage (see section 6.4).”
To:
“Do not store above 30 °C”
The shelf life remains the same at three years. The composition of the product has also not been changed.
MEPTID – SPF (special prescription form) prescription-free + high flexibility with favorable risk profile
MEPTID has been used successfully in obstetrics for decades. But the WHO stage II opioid for moderate to severe pain is now also appreciated in outpatient surgery due to its high flexibility and favorable risk profile.
